Enhancing the Competencies of Lecturers, Laboratory Staff, and Students in Geospatial Analysis Using Machine Learning for Precision Agriculture
Jember, July 9, 2026 – The Faculty of Agricultural Technology successfully organized a workshop entitled “Enhancing the Competencies of Lecturers, Laboratory Staff, and Students in Geospatial Analysis Using Machine Learning for Precision Agriculture.” Held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 08:00 to 16:00 WIB at the International Room, Building D, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, the event aimed to strengthen participants' knowledge and practical skills in applying advanced digital technologies to modern agricultural systems.
The workshop featured Prof. Bayu Taruna Widjaja Putra, B.Agr.Tech., M.Eng., Ph.D. as the keynote speaker. During his presentation, Prof. Bayu discussed the integration of Machine Learning and geospatial analysis as innovative tools for supporting precision agriculture. His session covered the processing and interpretation of spatial data, the use of remote sensing technologies, and the development of artificial intelligence models to improve agricultural decision-making and optimize land management practices.
The event was attended by lecturers, laboratory staff (PLP), and students, who actively participated in the presentations, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Through practical examples and real-world case studies, participants gained valuable insights into how geospatial data and machine learning techniques can be applied to enhance productivity, resource efficiency, and sustainability in agricultural operations.
